Florida: Latest Polls Suggest Newt Surging

Three seperate polls showing a Newt surge in Florida:

PPP just released early polls results via twitter. Newt is tied with Romney. Another poll–InsiderAdvantage–gives Newt an 8-point lead.

One difference between InsiderAdvantage and the larger polls is that IA uses pre-recorded vote-by-touchpad ‘robo-polling’ to conduct its surveys and it tries to do them in one day. The others use live callers and often take place over two to three days.

Rasmussen poll: Gingrich 41 percent, Romney 32 percent. Rasmussen cautions: Florida allows early voting, and Romney leads among those voters by 11 points. Gingrich leads by 12 among those who have not yet voted. Fourteen percent (14%) have already cast their vote.
