Just when the W.H.O. declares H1N1 Pandemic officially over, a new gene that allows any bacteria to become a superbug, labed NDM-1, has made its’ appearance in India, Pakistan, and now United Kingdom. Spread of the virus has been linked to patients undergoing cosmetic surgery in India. Doctors fear that the superbug gene that allows bacteria to transfer drug resistance to each other, making them resistant virtually to all known antibiotics. Cases have been found in the U.S., Australia, Canada, Netherlands, and Sweden and has been found largely in the E.Coli bacteria.
