Oprah Not One Of Billionaires To Give Back Half Of Wealth

Well, the diva of  talk shows and the friend of Obama, won’t be among the 40 billionaires who pledge to give back half of their wealth today.  Warren Buffett and Bill Gates known for their philanthropic endeavors contacted 70-80 billionaires listed in Forbes to join with them in leaving this legacy. 

Many of these billionaires who have children have done so with the philosophy as expressed by Michael Bloomberg, Independent, N.Y.Mayor: 

“You don’t want to leave them so much money that it ruins their lives,” Bloomberg said. “You want kids who can look back and say, ‘Yeah my family helped me but I did something on my own.’”

But As For Me…

A person’s true colors are apparent from such gestures.  Since Oprah is single, childless, we wonder if she was one of those who replied to this invitation to join fellow billionaires with “I’ve got a plane to catch…”
