It’s unanimous – from the left to the right – Barack Obama’s oil response is a leadership failure.
Sarah Palin took issue with Obama for allowing BP to control the facts and frame the oil spill situation to their advantage. She said, ‘you can never be allowed to that as a CEO and be on a level playing field.’
But Palin’s most striking point is that Obama did not communicate to the American people that plugging the hole is his top priority. Obama’s speech, according to Jason Linkins, had no point, and offered no clear solutions. (Obama’s Oval Office speech focused on furthering ‘cap and tax’ energy legislation.)
This was one of Palin’s strongest moments on television because she successfully grappled with tough questions by demonstrating her command of the subject matter. This strength no doubt stems from her experience dealing with the oil companies while Governor of Alaska.

Sen. Scott Brown: Obama Has Shown A “Lack Of Leadership” On Oil Spill
In an interview with Alison King of NECN on Tuesday, Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) criticized both President Obama and Congressional Democrats for their performance handling the BP oil leak crisis.
Sen. Brown said he hoped that tonight’s speech by the President would begin a new chapter of the crisis. “Up to this point, I think there has been a lack of leadership on this issue,” Brown said. “I think the time for the blame and finger-pointing is over, and i hope tonight will be a turning poin.
MSNBC Trashes Obama’s Address: Compared To Carter, “I Don’t Sense Executive Command”
Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann and Howard Fineman react to President Obama’s Oval Office Address on the oil spill. Here are the highlights of what the trio said:
Olbermann: “It was a great speech if you were on another planet for the last 57 days.”
Matthews compared Obama to Carter.
Olbermann: “Nothing specific at all was said.”
Matthews: “No direction.”
Howard Fineman: “He wasn’t specific enough.”
Olbermann: “I don’t think he aimed low, I don’t think he aimed at all. It’s startling.”
Howard Fineman: Obama should be acting like a “commander-in-chief.”
Matthews: Ludicrous that he keeps saying [Secretary of Energy] Chu has a Nobel prize. “I’ll barf if he does it one more time.”
Matthews: “A lot of meritocracy, a lot of blue ribbon talk.”
Matthews: “I don’t sense executive command.”

1. Obama`s MMS/Interior Dept. waved safety inspections.
2. Obama accepted the most in donations from BP.
3. Obama gave BP safety awards.
4. It`s in Federal waters, the CWA kicks in IF Obama wanted it too.
5. Refused to repeal the Jones Act.
6. Refused help from expert companies in other countries.
7. Refused to buy oil booms from a Maine company that has them stockpiled.
This is incredible. I think Obama is toast, now.
I’m glad they are mad, they can join the club.
What really struck me about this speech was we have a disaster the size and scope of this spill, and this IDIOT READ FROM A TELEPROMPTER THE ENTIRE ****ING TIME! This man cannot come up with an original thought when faced with a situation such as this!?!?! WTF are we gonna do, we are boned.
The good news is that more and more people are finally coming to the conclusion that Obama does not know what he is doing. He complete lack of experience is showing. Only his diehard supporters including the dimoKKKRATS in South Carolina(Greene) will still support him.
The speech was far and away the worst I’ve ever heard from a president.
This man is lost, democrats suck & America is well & truly screwed.
From none other than his most ardent supporters. I’ve never felt so helpless after watching the video. I’m almost too afraid to watch the any other critiques out of fear I’ll want to jump off a bridge.

WOW. MSNBC criticizing Obama, ten teams in the Big 12 and 12 in the Big 10, dogs and cats living together..
The end is nigh.
Wow, Zero has momentarily lost some libs. To think, that all it took for them to turn on their hero was for the Gulf of Mexico to turn into a sea of oil. It looks like our president has no executive experience after all but still might be an excellent community organizer.
Obama has really flamed out. The thrill is gone. Starting with his press conference last summer on health care, it has turned into a total disaster for the Democrats. His speeches and press conferences are poor, and his push hard left combined with nonsensical leadership are driving people away in droves. Unbelievable to watch considering how memorized over half the country was just a short 16 months ago.
Obama: You can’t even plug the hole… what makes you think you can play with energy economics at a time like this. just plug the hole first.
The AP wires are leading with this:
Americans have become just as dissatisfied with President Barack Obama’s work on the Gulf oil spill as they were with his predecessor’s handling of Hurricane Katrina, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll released Tuesday.

Why are people surprised? This is Obama since the campaign: Long on rhetoric and short on substance and specifics.
Daddy still hasn’t plugged the damn hole, and he will meet with the head of BP because Sarah Palin really tore him a new one for going 50+ days without speaking to him.
Daddy said he didn’t want to speak to the BP man because he wouldn’t be able to believe the words out of his mouth.
Well, Daddy, you said during the campaign that ‘words matter’ and you would even talk with Ahmadjihad without precondition. Why don’t the BP man’s words matter? Why wouldn’t you sit down with the BP man until Sarah America made you?
Daddy will have to search his Koran real hard for guidance on this one.
