ShareWhen you are an investment bank and you have huge government influence, what’s stopping you from wielding your political capital to influence events and policy that are beneficial to the bottom-line? When governments are corrupt and secret societies abound, power and influence prevail in the markets — but little organic value or useful service is added to the exchange of goods and services.

As we glance at the economics of oil spills, it’s obvious–with hindsight–to sell BP stock and buy goods and services that are used to clean up oil. Potentially billions of dollars will be made.

Shortly before the oil spill Goldman Sachs sold over $276 million dollars worth of BP stock.

See regulatory filings: http://moneycentral.msn.com/ownership?Holding=Institutional+Ownership&Symbol=BP

But what is really suspect is the fact that on the same date Berkshire (Obama’s darling Warren Buffett) purchased an ownership into a company that makes oil dispersant: Nalco. http://moneycentral.msn.com/ownership?Holding=5%25+Ownership&Symbol=NLC

Recall Buffett invested $5-billion with Goldman Sachs and defends them rigorously.

Further investigation reveals that Nalco is partly owned by Goldman Sachs, when they purchased part of the company in 2003.

More of these connections can be found on this site.

In addition the plot thickens: BP chief Tony Hayward sold shares weeks before oil spill.

Goldman Sachs also shorted the Gulf Oil stocks the day before the accident http://www.examiner.com/x-8199-Breakthrough-Ene… and http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.a…

Halliburton bought a company called Boots & Coots which became well known for putting out some of the world’s largest oil and gas fires. 8 days before the disaster http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/business/69…

Who from Goldman has been spending time at the White House with POTUS? http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2010/04/21/92637/gol…

I could be wrong, but I consider Goldman Sachs to be a financial umbrella that is used for governmental operations around the world. I see them as a integral part of the CIA, NSA, etc. Too big to fail!
