Middle America is still reeling from the economic meltdown of 2008-2009 with no end in sight to the suffering of many from the reckless gamblers on Wall Street, our banking institutions, insurance corporations and government.  Many lives were turned upside down and unlike in the case of Enron and others, the perpetrators are not being brought to justice, but, in fact, are reaping rewards from taxpayer bailouts.  Why haven’t heads rolled?  Why are we not seeing a line of suits handcufted and headed to jail?

PBS’s Paul Solman sat down recently with former bank regulator Bill Black on this phenomena in light of how the Savings and Loan Crisis was treated, and gives viewers an insight on bonuses in lieu of the lack of solvency of our banking system. View the video
