KATIE: I couldn’t believe my ears! At about 1:15 minutes into the “Bailouts” segment, Kellen Guida said “the people who orchestrated this economic collapse are the ones now creating economic policy”….and you quickly and audibly responded “right”. REALLY? Since the Democrats are in power now, they must be the ones “now creating economic policy”. So in front of millions of people you agreed that the Democrats “orchestrated this collapse”! How? The GOP had control of both houses of congress from 2000 into 2007, and the Presidency into 2009. The Republicans created policy all those years, their agenda, their reckless tax cuts for the wealthy and unprecedented spending! It took 225 for the national debt to rise to $5.71 Trillion, but the Republicans doubled it to over $11 Trillion in just 8 short years! Yet you let these two hard core Republicans state that it is somehow the Democrats fault…AND YOU AGREE?
Please retract your statement on the air, or why should I continue to watch your program? CT
CT you need to step back and take a look at 3 things:
1) The Democrats controlled congress the last two years of Bush’s term. How long has Nacy been Speaker of the house?
2) I seem to recall after Obama won in November, he was basically dictating public policy to the Bush administration all the way up until his inauguration. At the very least, he supported everything Bush did, like start the bailouts. Ask Katie, I’m sure she has some clips of him “encouraging” certain steps be taken.
and 3) As soon as he got inaugurated he then decided to TRIPLE the spending Georgie did in his 1st year.
True fiscal conservatives didn’t like it when Georgie was doing it and sure as hell don’t like it any better now.
Lets agree on two things:
Compassionate Conservatism was a fraud (albeit for different reasons im sure, mine being that a “Big Gov’t Republican” is, and always should be, an oxymoron)
“Tax and Spend Liberalism” as an ideology, is just plain stupidity. When we are honestly talking about the saving of $15 BILLION dollars on a spending freeze (try to picture how much money that REALLY is to you and I),
and that enormous amount of money is simpy a “rounding error” to the debt we are actually in.
