90 Days Until Christmas…

Television shopping networks are promoting the Holiday season as a way to recover from a lackluster Fall season, which was promoted early to recover from a disappointing Back-To-School promos, which were advertised in early summer to boost poor Summer Sales.  Recovery?  Maybe for the big wigs sitting behind their corporate desks while patting their lobbyists for a job well done on The Hill.

And what kind of a Christmas will it be for most Americans.  Well, I can tell you it won’t be the same one that Geithner is having, or the office party that Goldman Sachs will be having, and maybe the Obamas will consider limiting the decorating of the White House to just one Christmas tree.

The small businesses that drive the U.S. economy and employ the majority of Americans have not seen any relief.  Instead many are seeing the IRS and state revenue departments rechecking their taxes for the past 3 years to see who was naughty or nice and where they can squeeze more money out of the little guy.

Also, our brightest and best among us, our college students are finding an extra lump of coal in their stockings from Uncle Sam by getting audited and having to pay income tax on their scholarships.  Talk about support for education–Bah, Humbug!

And then, of course, there are those on the unemployment lines, waiting and hoping that a Christmas Miracle will be in the offering from the hallowed halls of Congress.

Recovery?  You tell me–oh well, there are still 90 days left until Christmas!
